Indian minister keen to make Yoga mandatory for schools

With the aim to strengthen primary health care,Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss would write to Human Resource Minister Arjun Singh for making yoga compulsary for schools in India.

Ramadoss was speaking after inaugurating the sixth AROGYA, a comprehensive health fair organised by the ministry's Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) department here on Saturday.

"Documentation of the exisiting knowledge available in the public domain on various traditional systems of medicine have become imperative to safeguard the sovereignty of our traditional knowledge and to protect them from misappropriation," the Minister said.
